Although prices in the Aravis Massif are rising at a similar rate to other areas in the Haute Savoie, the lower base from which they started ensures that property here is cheaper than in its more established neighbours. Property largely consists of big, individual chalets, which has helped to persevere the traditional character of the resorts.

The lower cost means more people are buying in Aravis with a view to using their property as a holiday home. There are also an increasing amount of buyers looking to start chalet businesses in the area. However, this upsurge in foreign buyers, combined with the fact that many properties remain within traditional French families, has meant fewer properties becoming available. Many buyers have thus begun looking outside the main resorts, or towards nearby Annecy which has a much greater supply of properties.
